Liquid epoxy resins are materials that are highly resistant to electrical currents. Insulating coatings that make use of these products are characterised by low electrical conductivity and can withstand high voltages. This makes them ideal for use as insulating protection on conductive elements.
The dipping technique is used for the application. The component to be insulated is preheated and immersed directly in the epoxy liquid. Once applied, the film is hardened in a crosslinking oven and forms a continuous protective layer over the component’s surface. This layer is electrically insulating and also guarantees protection from moisture, dust and external agents that could cause a short circuit.
Unlike powder products, coatings made with liquid resins are on average thicker and can be used to protect against particularly high voltages (HV and UHV). Liquid resins are also available for semi-rigid or flexible covers that allow you to protect braids, lamellars and all products where it is necessary to electrically insulate and maintain the flexibility of the component itself.
